I put my microphone on max volume (100) just for the purpose of showing how it sounds. Is your recording very soft when you record or is it normal but you can hear the static in the background? Hi, I listened to the recording and it sounds like excess power being provided to the microphone. Moving mic and soundcard around the room did not help Detaching every USB device except soundcard did not help Grounding is not an issue because I tried running my laptop on battery without charger and on charger with battery removed, problem still persists.
Tried plugging different 3.5 jack microphones into xonar u7 and the noise is always the same
The strength of static noise depends on microphones volume. When I record myself in Audacity and other recording tools I can hear static noise coming from my microphone even when microphone is muted using mute button on headset.
